Narrowing down our concept
After our 25% presentation last week, we had to really focus and narrow down our topic/thesis for our project. For the previous weeks, we as a group had brought up many different ideas and where staying very surface level on the topics that we had chosen. And with our old path, it would’ve lead us essentially nowhere.
What changed?
The change that we had was to had to choose a very specific lense to look into waste & fashion. This change saw its flourishment on Thursday of this past week as we struggling to choose are lense. On Thursday, as Selene and I talked to Kaleb, as Sofia and Joseph were away that day, we expressed our troubles. Through this conversation, we found clarity in our minds in how to approach narrowing down our project.
We had chosen three ideas to narrow down our project and we held a vote in our whatsapp group chat to select our favorite. The options were:
Stereotypes
Why do people shop at ___ (blank equals store name)?
Effects & Outcomes of complimenting people’s outfits
The topic we had voted for was stereotypes. Our general ideas to approach this topic were:
we can focus on IE mainly
do surveys and talk to ppl as their leaving uni
gather how people would consider their style to be (ie. skater, grungy, whimsical, runners...)
ask where they mainly shop
what they try to communicate with their clothing options
